The Prophecy of the Woman and the Seeds

After the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden, there is a prophecy given by the Lord God:

"And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
(Genesis 3:13-15 KJV)

The traditional interpretation is that this is a prophecy of the eventual victory of Lord Jesus Christ over Satan. And that is accurate, in a general sense. About four-thousand years later a virgin named Mary, who was of David's lineage, miraculously conceives a child by the Spirit of God:

"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
(Isaiah 7:14 KJV)

"Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
(Matthew 1:22-23 KJV)

This is the very core of the Gospel message. Specifically, God Himself begets a child with a human woman, through the agency of the Holy Spirit, and the child is the true Messiah of Israel:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
(John 3:16-17 KJV)

This Holy Child, Jesus, was an offspring fathered by God (not Joseph). He was "begotten" of God himself (see John 1:14,18; John 3:16,18; 1 John 4:9) by a virgin common daughter of man. This made Jesus both 100% God and 100% man. The blood lineage was directly from God, the flesh lineage was directly from Adam and Eve through the seed of David. This made Jesus a unique being. The Bible also says that Jesus was the woman's firstborn:

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."
(Luke 2:7 KJV)

"Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS."
(Matthew 1:24-25 KJV)

Note: The word "firstborn" has been omitted from many modern Bibles in an attempt to hide an important point of Scriptural Truth. Specifically, that Jesus was not the woman's only child. She did have other children with her husband Joseph AFTER Jesus was born. The Holy Bible does identify those children by name (Matthew 13:55, Mark 6:3, 15:40) and those children were normal men and women. Again, Mary was nothing more than a common woman. She too was a sinner in the flesh (Luke 2:22) like all of fallen mankind and, like us all, needed a redeemer to save her from sin. Although she was the mother of Jesus, she herself was not a deity or anything of the sort.

Now, getting back to the original premise about the prophecy, the Lord God implicitly speaks about two different seed lines, Satan's "thy seed" and Eve's "her seed" - with no specific mention of Adam's seed in that passage.

"And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground."
(Genesis 4:1-2 KJV)

Eve gave birth to a set of twins. The passage says she "bare Cain" and then she "again bare his brother Abel" - with no mention of a second act of copulation by her and Adam between the two mentions of "bare" in the above passage. She gave birth to both boys at the same time. Later, Cain kills his brother Abel and God gives Eve a replacement seed:

"And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew."
(Genesis 4:25 KJV)

So, in the above passage, Seth and Abel are specifically identified as Adam's seed, given to the woman through two separate acts of human copulation at two different times in the history of the story. This begs a question: If Seth and Abel were Adam's seed, was not also Cain Adam's seed? The answer is found in the New Testament:

"Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous."
(1 John 3:12 KJV)

Do you see what the Bible says? It would appear that Cain and Abel were not only fraternal twins but were also bipaternal, a Bible documented case of what is today medically termed Heteropaternal Superfecundation. In other words, Adam's sperm made Abel and the serpent's sperm fathered Cain.

Seeing that the New Testament documents that God (through the Holy Ghost) fathered the Lord Jesus Christ, a righteous act of God (Isaiah 7:14 & Matthew 1:22-23 KJV), and that in the Old Testament there is documented evidence of some evil Angels impregnating human women:

"And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
(Genesis 6:1-4 KJV)

Is it really beyond possibility that Satan himself, appearing in the flesh as an Angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14) would not pull such a stunt in the Garden?

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
(Genesis 3:15 KJV)

What is amazing, and somewhat ironic of God's wisdom, is that the very method Satan used in his attempt to destroy the seed of mankind through Eve in the flesh, was used against him by the Lord God (by the agency of Holy Spirit) to save the seed of mankind through the virgin named Mary, who was of the seed-line of King David.

"And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:"
(Acts 13:22-23 KJV)

The Prophecy of the Woman and Her Seed, and the enmity between her and the Devil, has continued across human history and will continue into the future. The chosen seed-line, the Jewish people of whom our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ was born, are a special target of Satan's hate. This is because:

"Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews."
(John 4:22 KJV)

Satan tried to destroy Moses, God's anointed, who would lead the Jews out of Egypt (a fleshly seed of the tribe of Levi). Satan tried to destroy Jesus, God's only begotten son (a fleshly seed of the tribe of Judah). His hatred against the Jewish people has been manifested in the waves of Anti-Semitism against across the centuries and into today. This is a spiritual hatred that dwells in the spiritual background of this present evil world. And this spiritual warfare, and the enmity between Satan's seed and the Woman's seed, will continue through the latter days.

"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:"
(Revelation 12:1 KJV)

"And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne."
(Revelation 12:5 KJV)

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
(Revelation 12:17 KJV)

Not only will this warfare continue to the end of the present world, but even at the end of the one-thousand year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ - the last world on the face of this Earth.

"And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
(Revelation 20:7-10 KJV)
